Crestless Curassow

Mitu tomentosum

Least Concern

The Crestless Curassow is a large, mostly forest-dwelling cracid of lowland forest of the Guianas, Venezuela, Colombia, and northern Brazil. It spends much of its time walking quietly on the forest floor, where it feeds on fallen fruit, seeds, and small invertebrates. It remains comparatively widespread, but healthy forest and woodland still matter for keeping local populations secure.
