Gray-headed Chachalaca

Ortalis cinereiceps

Least Concern

The Gray-headed Chachalaca is a noisy, social cracid of forest edges from Central America to northwestern Colombia. It moves through thickets, forest edges, and trees in pairs or small groups, feeding mainly on fruit, flowers, leaves, and other plant material. It remains comparatively widespread, but healthy forest and woodland still matter for keeping local populations secure.
