Great Tinamou

Tinamus major

Least Concern

The Great Tinamou is a large forest tinamou of tropical lowland and foothill forests from southern Mexico through Central America and much of northern South America. It is usually heard as a deep, resonant whistle from the forest floor. Fun fact: Its eggs are glossy and turquoise-blue, among the most striking eggs of any bird.
