Lesser Nothura

Nothura minor

Vulnerable

The Lesser Nothura is a threatened grassland tinamou of Brazil's cerrado and campo habitats. It is small, cryptic, and strongly tied to native open vegetation that is disappearing in many areas. Fun fact: Its eggs, like many tinamou eggs, can have a polished porcelain-like shine.
