Nicobar Megapode

Megapodius nicobariensis

Vulnerable

The Nicobar Megapode is a mound-building island bird restricted to the Nicobar Islands. It lives in coastal forest, scrub, and island woodland, where it uses decomposing vegetation and warm sand to incubate its eggs.
