Orange-footed Megapode

Megapodius reinwardt

Least Concern

The Orange-footed Megapode is a widespread scrubfowl of the Lesser Sunda Islands, southern New Guinea, and northern Australia. It uses forest, scrub, mangroves, and even suburban gardens in parts of its range. Fun fact: Around Darwin it is a familiar mound-builder sometimes called a bush chook.
