Ornate Tinamou

Nothoprocta ornata

Least Concern

The Ornate Tinamou is a patterned highland species of puna grasslands and open Andean slopes. Its barred and spotted plumage is more decorative than many tinamous, yet still works as camouflage in stony grasslands. Fun fact: It often inhabits cold, windswept elevations where few ground birds are common.
