Puna Tinamou

Tinamotis pentlandii

Least Concern

The Puna Tinamou is a high-Andean tinamou of puna grassland, rocky slopes, and open shrubland in Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina. Its mottled brown plumage blends into dry upland country, and it usually walks or runs rather than flying. Fun fact: Like other tinamous, males incubate the eggs and care for the young.
