Razor-billed Curassow

Mitu tuberosum

Near Threatened

The Razor-billed Curassow is a large, mostly forest-dwelling cracid of Amazon Basin forests of northern South America. It spends much of its time walking quietly on the forest floor, where it feeds on fallen fruit, seeds, and small invertebrates. Although still present across parts of its range, habitat loss and hunting pressure mean its populations need close watching.
