Rufous-bellied Chachalaca
Ortalis wagleri
Least ConcernThe Rufous-bellied Chachalaca is a noisy, social cracid of dry tropical woodland of western Mexico. It moves through thickets, forest edges, and trees in pairs or small groups, feeding mainly on fruit, flowers, leaves, and other plant material. It remains comparatively widespread, but healthy forest and woodland still matter for keeping local populations secure.
