Rusty-margined Guan

Penelope superciliaris

Near Threatened

The Rusty-margined Guan is an arboreal cracid of wooded habitats from eastern Brazil to Paraguay, Bolivia, and northern Argentina. It usually keeps to forest canopy and edges, feeding heavily on fruit and helping move seeds through tropical and subtropical forests. Although still present across parts of its range, habitat loss and hunting pressure mean its populations need close watching.
