Salvin's Curassow
Mitu salvini
Least ConcernThe Salvin's Curassow is a large, mostly forest-dwelling cracid of western Amazonian and foothill forests of Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. It spends much of its time walking quietly on the forest floor, where it feeds on fallen fruit, seeds, and small invertebrates. It remains comparatively widespread, but healthy forest and woodland still matter for keeping local populations secure.
