Solitary Tinamou

Tinamus solitarius

Near Threatened

The Solitary Tinamou is a large forest tinamou of the Atlantic Forest region of Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina. It relies on mature and secondary forest with enough cover on the ground, and has declined where forests have been cleared. Fun fact: Its name reflects its habit of moving alone through dense forest understory.
