Tawny-breasted Tinamou

Nothocercus julius

Least Concern

The Tawny-breasted Tinamou is a montane forest tinamou of the Andes from Venezuela and Colombia south to Peru and Bolivia. It lives on shaded forest floors, where its warm brown tones blend with leaves and mossy roots. Fun fact: Forest tinamous are often heard as clear whistles from dense cover long before they are seen.
