Crypturellus cinnamomeus

Least Concern

The Thicket Tinamou is a Middle American tinamou of dry and moist forest, thickets, and secondary growth from Mexico to Costa Rica. It has warm brown plumage and a strong preference for dense cover. Fun fact: Its repeated whistling call has been compared to the sound of a distant steam engine.
