Variegated Tinamou

Crypturellus variegatus

Least Concern

The Variegated Tinamou is a forest tinamou of Amazonia and the Guianas, named for its subtly mottled and patterned plumage. It stays close to the forest floor, feeding on fallen fruit, seeds, and small invertebrates. Fun fact: Its camouflage is so effective that even large forest tinamous can be nearly invisible at close range.
