Wattled Curassow

Crax globulosa

Endangered

The Wattled Curassow is a large, mostly forest-dwelling cracid of seasonally flooded Amazonian river forests. It spends much of its time walking quietly on the forest floor, where it feeds on fallen fruit, seeds, and small invertebrates. Its conservation story is important, with habitat loss and hunting pressure making protected forest especially valuable.
